With the uncertain economic times that have most of us on edge, is it a good time to look at upskilling or choosing a whole new career path in general? I have been asking myself this question a lot lately. Why? Well my hubby and I have recently started a family. Our daughter is 22monthls old and our son has just turned 5months; BUT we are planning on having two more children somewhere along the way quite soon. I do still want to go back to work (or have to because of our financial situation) but do I go back to what I have always done (but dont really like anymore), or do I go along the uncertain journey of studying something for a total career change? This will not guarantee me a job, there are many University graduates who are still unemployed. If they cant find jobs is there any hope for me? The answer to this question is YES. I have faith in my ability and the determination that once I study something and complete it to the best of my ability I will find a position that will utilise my new skills or better yet, be my own boss.
What will the new career path be however? Still deciding on that one.
